Warren Evans was the Chief of Police for the Detroit Police Department until about July 21, 2010. Mayor Bing asked for his resignation. Ralph Godbee stepped in as interim chief.
Evans was also Wayne County Sheriff.

The film comes a month after Evans switched to Detroit police chief from Wayne County sheriff, which is where Moore found him last year and liked what he saw. At the time, Sheriff Evans was halting the sales of foreclosed homes until President Barack Obama’s mortgage aid initiative could kick in.
